What we do

Based on years of private practice, dental education and public health experience, our courses and curriculum provide a place for dentists, hygienists and assistants to learn new skills and advance their careers. When we started in 2012, most of our courses were classroom based. During 2020, our business model had to respond quickly to our client needs and adapt. We now offer our courses primarily online with the exception of American Heart Association CPR training.

Our IDB approved online courses include: 

  • Level One expanded functions for assistants and hygienists. Hundreds of assistants and hygienist have successfully completed out expanded function curriculum. Didactic training is done online with lab and clinical requirements completed in the office of the supervising dentist. 
  • Home study courses for the all three state assisting exams.  Our proven OJT assisting home study courses provide the necessary information to be successfully pass the exams in an easy to understand format.  Proctored, IDB approved online jurisprudence, infection control and radiology exams included in course tuition. Remediation available until goals have been achieved at no cost. 
  • Soft tissue diode laser certification courses have become very popular for both dentists and hygienists looking to advance their career.  Didactic course and exam online. Clinical training done in office. 
  • OSHA and Iowa Dental Board required courses filled with practical content, great tips and current protocols that include infection control, jurisprudence, radiology, opioid training, HIPAA and OSHA. Our jurisprudence courses are updated continually with the newest changes to the IAC 481. 
  • AHA CPR New, Renewal or Skills only. Blended (course online/skills only in person) or complete in person courses available. We can come to you! Contact us today for more information.

As we look back over the past year, we grew in ways we never would have anticipated.

  • The Iowa Dental Board approved a Level Two Expanded Function Placement of Dental Sealants course in a joint venture between DMACC Continuing Education and Impact Dental Training. Our three courses in 2025 were very popular and future courses will be scheduled based on demand. If you're interested, be sure to let DMACC or IDT know so we can get you on the early registration list.
  • The Iowa Dental Board selected Impact Dental Training to proctor jurisprudence exams for new and/or reinstating dental and dental hygiene licensees coming to Iowa. We are honored by their confidence in our home study courses and exam protocols.
  • Our support for on the job trained dental assistants continue to grow. We have comprehensive online courses and exams for jurisprudence, infection control and radiology. Let us take the burden off training off the team and get your new assistants headed in the right direction! We will stay with the assistant until they pass the exam at no additional cost.
  • Our Level One expanded functions online curriculum has never been more popular. Expand office productivity without the assistant or hygienist leaving the office. Hundreds of team members have successfully completed expanded functions with us. 
  • We have enjoyed providing personalized live webinars to more and more offices every month. This is a great way to get your required in person CEUs while the doctor is out of the office or in place of a team meeting. 
  • When you are in need of CEUs, don't forget skill expanding course like Silver Diamine Fluoride (DDS/RDH/DA) or assistant add on skill courses like Testing Pulp Vitality, Placing Dry Socket Materials and Preliminary Charting.
